I was privileged to spend a day in the studio with professional model and local girl Amber Tutton. Read about the RPS’s Studio Workshop Day here. Fashion and beauty is not my usual genre, I wanted to push the boundaries and try something new in my photography. I had heaps of fun on the day and also with post-processing where a lot of the creativity and experimentation is achieved. Some of these shots might be a bit cliche, but what the heck! The first head-shot (1 of 15) I would have originally thought was far too dark and underexposed, but thanks to Don’s advice on the day, I do now accept that this level of light, being similar to paintings from the old masters (Rembrandt in particular), does have a great appeal – I do love this shot.
