Berlin
Berlin Assignment
May 2014, a few days in Berlin. I’m not one for collecting tourist brochures and taking public transport, I prefer to walk to get a feel for a place and to find interesting views for myself. What an amazing and vibrant city! I did have a few places on my imaginary list, The Wall, Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie. The exercise is welcome, but you get the time to ‘see’ things; a stairwell or tower block with interesting lines, or the Trabi Safari passing by! I was even caught up in two different protest marches on the Saturday which ended in an open-air concert by a local celebrity reggae band called ‘Seeed’.
Seeing the remaining sections of the Wall, the museums and memorials dedicated to the Cold War at this time in history was a moving experience for me so I felt they deserved a page of their own; here.
So here are my images of Berlin taken with the Sony NEX7 which is ideal for travelling light.
