Desert in Bloom

Images taken during a workshop I held in Southern Utah.  In spring during April and May, the desert floor teems with new life with wild flowers and succulents providing colourful displays.  These flowers bloom next to sheltered rocks or from the macrobiotic soil which clings to bare rock and takes hundreds of years to form.

Beautiful photos Les! I just returned from Crested Butte Colorado – the wildflower capital of the world. Next time you’re stateside, a trip to Crested Butte / Gothic would be well worth it. You’d definitely give your macro lens a workout!
